Show: Altuzarra, Spring/Summer 2013
Concept: Railroad engineer goes couture, then first class fashion elite.
Beauty: Hair by Fekkai; makeup by MAC.
Accessory of Choice: Gladiator boots
Impression: Looking back at NYFW, Altuzarra was definitely one of the few designers to reign supreme. Every look was impeccably styled, with at least a few separate pieces in every look. This certainly wasn’t your sole dress-and-heels runway.
The entire collection was thought out and beautifully constructed. Tailored jackets featuring vents and clasps (allowing them to also function as capes, as you’ll see in the images below) graced the runway. And it doesn’t just end there: First, there was the railroad stripe “engineer” fabric; then, we began to see bejeweled fabrics with fringe and luscious layering. Ultimately resulting in a line of fashionable, functional, wearable and classic pieces.
